Principals of Secondary Schools in Anambra State have been charged to educate their students on the need for them to register for both West African Senior School Certificate Examination and National Examination Commission examinations.

 

 

 

The Chairman, Post Primary Schools Service Commission, PPSSC, Awka, Professor Nkechi Ikediugwu gave the charge while monitoring the ongoing NECO examination across the state.

 

 

 

The schools visited were Kenneth Dike Memorial Secondary School, Community Secondary School, Agulu-Awka, Ezi-Awka Community Secondary School, Capital City Secondary School and Igwebuike Grammar School, all in Awka.

 

 

 

At Kenneth Dike Memorial Secondary School, the Chairman observed that not all the Senior Secondary three students were writing the exams and on inquiry, the Principal reported that not all of them registered for the NECO examination.

 

 

 

At Community Secondary School, Agulu-Awka, the examination started as scheduled with just about thirty students and the hall was calm as the students were writing the exam and Professor Ikediugwu advised the Principal to utilize the approved five thousand naira from the senior students to keep the school compound tidy.

 

At Ezi-Awka Community Secondary School, the examination was ongoing when the Chairman arrived, same at Capital City Secondary School, Awka where the students were equally writing their exam when the Chairman arrived.

 

 

 

 

 

At Igwebuike Grammar School, Awka, a handful of the Senior Secondary three students were seen writing the examination while the Chairman advised the Principal to find a way to clear the bushes around the school.
