In line with the state Government’s approval to decontaminate facilities in the state through pest control and fumigation, the Transition Committee Chairman for new Auto Spare Parts Market Nkpor, Chief Stephen Oforleh has welcomed the veterinary services team from the Anambra state Ministry of Agriculture in the market for the fumigation exercise.
The team was to raid the premises off pest, insects and rodent among others.
Speaking while flagging off the exercise in the market, Chief Oforleh, described the exercise as a step towards building a healthy Anambra devoid of diseases and outbreaks.
Chief Oforleh while commending the vision of the government towards the exercise assured that he will always support the present administration in the state and will continue to key into its healthy programmes.
On his part, the coordinator of the fumigation team Dr. Chinedu Amuta, an environmental scientist, expressed their readiness to fumigate any facility entrusted unto them with all the needed equipment and listed some of their equipment and their benefits, promising to carry out the exercise judiciously.
He warned people to be mindful of various diseases that are on air now, especially cholera and ensure that they imbibe proper hygiene procedure, as well as fumigate their environment for safety.
