Works Road, Awka, towards Prisons junction, once notorious for its potholes and dilapidation, is being transformed through a multimillion-naira reconstruction project.
Commuters along the road now heave a sigh of relief as Anambra state government has responded to their yearnings by reconstructing the road.
Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS crew, while monitoring the work on the road, observed significant advancements, including laying of stone base and priming, on the one hundred and forty meters road from the Ministry of Works gate.
Some of the road users including Messrs Christian Nwokoye, Ikechukwu Ndu, and Engineer Chika Chijieze said the road was previously impassable because of countless and dangerous potholes that made it a death trap for users.
They praised Governor Soludo’s administration, which they said has achieved significant milestones in infrastructure development, especially construction of numerous roads.
When completed, the road will ease a lot of traffic and save road users the stress of traveling through Eke Awka to get to Amawbia and environs.
