Anambra State Association of Calgary Canada has donated over twenty pieces of modern hospital beds to eighteen health centres in seven local government areas of the State.

 

The local government areas include, Idemili North and South, Orumba North and South, Ogbaru, Oyi and Anambra East.

 

Presenting the beds to the state government at Obosi in Idemili North Local Government Area, the representative of the Association Mr. Kenechukwu Ochokwu, said the selection of both the Local government and health centres is based on those who do not have easy access to secondary and tertiary health facilities.

 

He said that they kicked off the presentation at Model Primary Health centre Obosi , adding that they will get to other local government areas.

 

Mr. Ochokwu while commending the philanthropic leadership of the Association as well as the contributions of some of their past and present administration which includes Dr. Chinyere Okoli the former president, Mr. Chinedu Ofoegbunam the incumbent president and Dr. Chukwunonso Nzelu the chairman of the homeland project committee for their tireless efforts in ensuring that they impact lives in their homeland.

 

He charged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items.

 

A community leader in Obosi Chief Onyedika Mmuonago expressed joy at the kind gesture of the association especially in providing succor to the health needs of Ndi Anambra.

 

He further commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for series of renovations going on at their health centre stating that the people of Obosi will continue to support his government.

 

Receiving the items, the Officer in charge of Model primary Health centre Obosi, Mrs. Chinyere Ebisi while thanking the association for their benevolence, prayed God to replenish them.
