The Women’s Ministry of Chapel of Glory International, University Chaplaincy, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka has celebrated their 2024 Sisters’ Day .

 

The event which gave mothers and girls opportunity to come together, celebrate one another and thank God for the success recorded in the year was kick started with a seminar.

In her message titled “You Are The Light”, the guest preacher, Sister Christy Ogbodo whose message was derived from first John two verse ten, Mathew Chapter four verse five to twenty; explained that professing positive things never makes one the light of God but walking by the footsteps of God through exemplary lifestyle in Christ Jesus.

She pointed out that the source of one’s shining is not as a result of his or her statement but rather their footsteps that glorifies God and drives away darkness and brightens their path, advising all to walk in the light in order to be cleansed from all sins.

Speaking shortly after the celebration, the President of the Women Ministry, Chapel of Glory, Professor Ebele Okoye said that the event is celebrated every second week of July to assess their contributions in their homes, church and society and added that the theme of this year’s celebration is “ Women light to the home, church and nation”.

 

Professor Okoye thanked God for several multiplications, promotions and successes recorded by members of the ministry in the past year.

For the Chairman of Council of the church, Professor Emma Okoye and the priest in charge of the chapel, Reverend Leonard Onwuzuligbo, women make outstanding contributions to improve the society and the family and described them as very important pillars of the church.

 

They advised their husbands to join hands with their wives in nurturing their children as a way to reduce the moral decadence in the society and prayed God to continue to bless and strengthen them in all their endeavours.

The Director of News and Current Affairs Department of Anambra Broadcasting Service, Awka, Mrs. Judy Jeff-Nwabueze made a special presentation as Newscaster during the event.

The sisters of the church later danced for the glory of God gifts in thanksgiving, while praises, drama as well as support for widows and widowers were some of the highpoints of the event.
