Presidents-General in Anambra State have been charged to be ambassadors of positive change, peace and unity in their various communities and local governments areas.
The Transition Committee Chairman of Awka North Local Government Area, Comrade ThankGod Anago gave this charge when he received the new President-General of Awba-Ofemili Development Union (ADU) Comrade Fidelis Chinedu Mebene in his office in Achalla, the headquarters of the council area.
The new President-General and some members of his team were in the Chairman’s office to officially present his certificate of recognition by the State government.
Speaking during the visit, Comrade Anago called on the new President-General and his team to ensure that their leadership agenda for the people of Awba-Ofemili aligns with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision of a clean, livable, peaceful and prosperous Anambra and maintained that Awka North under his leadership will never leave any stone unturned in giving every town union leadership all the needed assistance to enable them succeed in their respective communities.
The Awka North Mayor further urged Comrade Chinedu Mebene and his executive to ensure that they entrench participatory leadership where no one would be left behind in Awba-Ofemmili, as well as initiate policies and programmes that will unite and move the community forward and called on Ndi Awka North to always support the Governor Soludo administration which he said has transformed the economic fortunes of the state in barely two years of assuming office, and has equally done a lot for the people of Awka North.
Comrade Anago described the construction of Amansea-Ebenebe-Ugbene-Ugbenu-Awba-Ofemmili road by Governor Soludo, as one of the legacy projects of the current Anambra State government that Ndi Awka North will cherish for generations to come.
In the same vein, Comrade Anago has also received the new President-General of Ugbene Community, Mr. Armour Nnaluo who was on a familiarization visit as well as to officially present his certificate of recognition to him.
Comrade Anago seized the opportunity to charge the new Presidents-General of Ugbene to always put the overall interest of Ugbene people above any other consideration.
He promised that his administration will continue to give every community leadership in the council all the necessary assistance for them to discharge their duties effectively and seamlessly in line with Governor Soludo’s administration policy of building a livable and prosperous homeland.
