The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor says any mortal who loves earthly things is an enemy of God.

In a sermon at Saint James Parish Uga in Aguata local government area during a service of confirmation and admission into Mothers Union, Girls Guild and Anglican Mens fellowship for all the parishes under Uga Archdeaconry Right Reverend Ezeofor cautioned Christians against having undue quest for materialism and other things that are not glorifying God reminding them to always live lives that will earn them eternity.

Right Reverend Ezeofor said that the position one occupies in the society, the kind of food one eats, and the clothes one wears, among other things, are not a visa to heaven and charged Christians to work towards bringing the needed transformation in the society.

Right Reverend Ezeofor who listed the love of the World to include lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and pride of life maintained that devil is still using the same trick he used to test Adam and Eve to manipulate many Christians saying that he used the same trick to test Jesus Christ but he failed woefully.

Right Reverend Ezeofor who is also the National Chairman of the Evangelical fellowship in the Anglican communion EFAC Nigeria urged Christians to know God and accept Him as their father by having the word of God in them in order to overcome the vicissitudes of life.

He blamed the problem of the Nigerian-Nation on bad leadership, and charged those occupying various elective positions not to see it as their birth right reminding them the negative consequences of diverting public funds into personal use.

Bishop Ezeofor charged those that received the sacrament of confirmation and those admitted into various groups during the service to always aspire to be role models where ever they are in order to continue to win souls for Christ.

The Archdeacon of Uga Archdeaconry and Vicar of Saint James Parish Uga Venerable Wisdom Otaluka in a remark, charged Christians to always maintain their pride as the salt and light of the earth warning them against acts capable of debasing Christianity.

Sixty three candidates received the sacrament of confirmation, nineteen women admitted into Mothers Union and Fourteen girls admitted into Girls Guild while one was enrolled into Christian Men’s fellowship during the service which attracted the president of Aguata Diocesan Women’s Ministry Mrs. Chinyere Ezeofor, some Diocesan officials, the clergy and their Wives, uniformed organizations among others.
