Rotarian Nkemdilim A.U. Nonyelum will be installed as the new District Governor, Rotary Club of Nigeria District 9140 , covering seven states in the South-Eastern region, including Cross-River and Akwa-Ibom.
The ceremony will take place today , Saturday, July 27th, at the International Convention Centre, Awka, and is expected to attract approximately one thousand five hundred Rotarians and their families.

According to the release, as a global association dedicated to doing good, Rotary International aims to promote world peace, business, leadership, humanitarian services, and fellowship worldwide.
This year, the focus will be on addressing maternal and child health issues, basic education, and literacy.
The release said that Rotarian Nonyelum outlined some of the plans to alleviate the challenges faced by school children, including initiatives to address diseases and health issues such as cancer prevention, mental illness, prostate cancer, malaria eradication, polio eradication, and environmental pollution.
Regarding security arrangements for the installation ceremony, Rotarian Nonyelum assured that necessary measures have been taken to ensure a safe and secure environment, with no anticipated security challenges.
