Anambra State Commandant of Peace Corps Nigeria, Mr. Innocent Okolo has pleaded with Ndi Anambra not to joined the organizers of EndBadGovernanceInNigeria but to seek alternative dialogues routes with President Bola Tinubu and suspend the ongoing nationwide protests.
Speaking during an interview in Awka, Mr. Okolo said that he is of the opinion that instead of embarking on protest that will further trigger the hardship in the country, high level consultations should be initiated to get better understandings of the issues at hand and resolve them immediately.
He expressed fears that the protests may slip into violent altercations that will in turn worsen the economic and political situations in the country, pointing out that any step that will be detrimental to the wellbeing of the citizenry especially the downtrodden must be avoided at the moment.
The Peace Corps Commandant said as a patriotic youth organization concerned with the state of affairs of the nation, the peace corps of Nigeria strongly deemed it very important to add its voice to that of other well meaning Nigerians and groups in calling for a caution in handling the very delicate situation.
Mr Okolo expressed optimism that the present administration will further roll out feasible measures to intervene and arrest the economic issues that triggered the protest and therefore urged the federal government to support genuine youth groups like, The Peace Corps of Nigeria as a vehicle to effectively empower the youths.
