Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Southeast zone, converged on Awka, Anambra state, for the 2024 South East Media Summit and Awards .

 

The event brought together media professionals, policy makers and stakeholders, to discuss the economic future of the region.

 

It also created a platform to discuss the past, present and future of the state as the media summit looked at the immediate environment and as well discuss on how use journalism to add value to the society.

 

The summit themed “South East; towards a robot economic blueprint for sustainable development”, featured keynotes address from the governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo represented by his Chief of staff Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi who highlighted the region’s economic potential and challenges.

 

Governor Soludo urged the people of Anambra to support his administration to achieve the set goals .

 

Sir Chinedu Nwoye, the convener and national coordinator of Soludo Support Group, praised the NUJ southeast and urged other regions to cue in.

 

Distinguished awards were presented to dignitaries for their outstanding contributions to regional development, including Professor Kate Omenugha who was the mother of the day, Honourable Jude Akpua, the Deputy Majority leader Anambra State House of Assembly, member representing Njikoka two constituency and other outstanding individuals.
