Showing gratitude and appreciation to God is one of the core cardinal principles of the Christian faith to attract more blessings.

 

Perhaps it was on this backdrop that Engineer Godwin Anyaegbunam of Ogbu Abatete, Idemili North Council Area, went to thanksgiving at the Most Holy Name of Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Abatete to thank God for his life and launched his foundation ‘Godwin Anyaegbunam Foundation’.

The celebrant, Engineer Anyaegbunam was involved in a road accident seven years ago where he sustained a high degree of injury and after his survival, he initiated the foundation to save more lives through empowerment and care.

 

Speaking while unveiling the logo of the foundation, Governor Chukwuma Soludo expressed happiness for the grace given to the celebrant to survive an incident many could have died from, saying that what could have been considered ugly has now given birth to a platform that keys into the Public Private Community Partnership model of his government, which is designed to bring in extensive collaborations to help the government empower and eradicate hunger among the vulnerable.

Governor Soludo who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi detailed the efforts of his administration to touch the lives of Ndi Anambra such as the successes recorded in security and road constructions that connects communities in the state.

He also noted that the foundation is in tune with state government’s economic transformation to eradicate hunger and empower families through human capital development and access to affordable and quality healthcare as well as education, stating that his government is building five new general hospitals in Anambra North Senatorial District, calling on Ndi Anambra to support him to achieve his dream of a livable and prosperous home land.

Earlier in his homily during a special mass of thanksgiving to celebrate the event, a visiting priest, Reverend Father Jeremiah Ikezue said that trials and temptations may come in life but those whose faith and trust in God are strong will always surmount them, thanking God for the life of Engineer Anyaegbunam and what he has used the incident to achieve for the glory of God, urging others to invest in the lives of the poor and the downtrodden and always show appreciation to God.

 

While testifying to the glory of God, Engr Anyaegbunam narrated how he survived the accident which made him to dedicate every August fourteenth to reach out to the poor and that he has touched many lives through the gesture but expressed optimism that with the launch of the foundation, more lives will be affected positively.

On his part, the Manager of the Foundation, Mr Francis Chukwunonso noted that for seven years now, they have invested heavily in people’s lives especially through health intervention and empowerment and prayed God to keep blessing their benefactor.

 

In a goodwill message, a stakeholder in Abatete, Sir Obiora Chidozie said that with his health interventions, Engr Anyaegbunam has increased the life expectancy of Ndi Idemili North, calling on their affluent people in the council area to emulate him.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs Virginia Ozoemene thanked their benefactor, saying that he has their interest at heart and asked God to replenish him with long life and prosperity.
