The GEANCO Community Center, Cecilia Okoye Academy has held its Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) Day, in COA campus 2, Mmimi Nwafia, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.

 

The program themed “Future Tech: Exploring Emerging Technologies,” for Senior Secondary School Students , aimed to ignite curiosity, foster innovation, and prepare the next generation for the rapidly evolving technological landscape.

The Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Innovation and Business Incubation, Miss Chinwe Okoli represented by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Innovation and Business Incubation Mr. Ikechukwu Anajemba, emphasized the state government’s commitment to promoting innovation and entrepreneurship among young people.

 

Miss Okoli said that the students are the future innovators and entrepreneurs, encouraging them to think creatively, develop innovative solutions, take advantage of the resources available to them and also embrace the positive part of technology.

In a welcome address, the Programme Manager of GEANCO Community Center Mrs. Paschaline Chukwuka delved into the transformative power of emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, 3D printing, virtual reality, solar energy, Internet of Things, IoT, Robotics and Drone Assembly.

 

Director of GEANCO Community Center, Mmimi Nwafia Mrs. Anuli Ilechukwu, emphasized the importance of empowering young minds by exploring emerging technologies, equipping students with the skills and knowledge to shape a better future, encouraging the students to keep learning as according to her, learning is a continuous process.

The students participated in engaging workshops, panel discussions on engineering, technology, software engineering, and healthcare, hands-on activities, led by industrial experts and academics.

 

The program also featured a showcase of innovative projects by students, highlighting their creativity and problem-solving skills.

A student of community secondary school Umuokpu Awka, Ndubuisi Chidinma said that STEM Day has inspired her to pursue her passion for technology and make a positive impact in the society.
