In her effort to ensure a conducive environment for effective learning for Idemili South pupils, The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Mrs Amaka Obi, has inaugurated a five classroom block at central school Enuogwugwu Ojoto, renovated by her administration.

 

She also distributed over three hundred learning desks to selected primary schools in Idemili South according to the number of desks needed by the school.

 

The State Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, performed the ceremony on behalf of Governor Chukwuma Soludo and flagged off the distribution of the new desks.

 

Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh in her remark commended the initiative which according to her is in line with the education agenda of Governor Soludo.

 

She highlighted the importance of quality and affordable education in building a progressive society adding that Governor Soludo’s free education policy and recruitment of eight thousand one hundred and fifteen quality teachers reflects his passion to give Anambra children the best education and prepare them to control the future.

 

She commended the people of Idemili South and encouraged them to continue supporting Mrs Amaka Obi to serve them better.

 

Mrs Amaka Obi in her address noted that her passion is to see Idemili South counted among the best local governments in education and other sectors and promised to continue putting her best to achieve that.

 

She expressed gratitude to those who supported the project and called on others to emulate them through adoption of public private community partnership model of Governor Soludo even as she noted that government cannot build a viable and progressive society alone

 

She recounted the progress Idemili South made under her leadership and appreciated the people of Idemili South for their support which she said has kept her going without looking back.

 

The Traditional ruler of Ojoto Igwe Gerald Mbamalu represented by Chief Romeo Anyisia the President General of Ojoto Akanasato, Chief Ernest Obunadike represented by the Secretary, Mr Donkatchy Chimbiko both commended the initiative and assured their support for the Transition Committee Chairman and Governor Chukwuma Soludo led administration.

 

The Headmistress of central school Enuogwugwu Ojoto, Edith Anigbogu in her vote of thanks noted that she met the classroom block in a bad shape and appreciated Mrs Amaka Obi for reviving the building.
