Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has restated commitment to providing the security of life and property of the people of the state.

 

 

 

Governor Soludo stated this shortly after a town hall meeting with Traditional Rulers, Presidents-General, Transition Committee Chairmen and Service Commanders in the state which was held at the International Convention Centre, Awka.

 

 

 

Speaking to journalists shortly after the closed-door meeting, Governor Soludo revealed that security issues and the forthcoming local government elections, topped discussions.

 

 

 

He noted that even though Anambra is a lot safer, the meeting was to discuss what he termed systemic insecurity in the state and how his administration will continue to respond and improve on the situation.

 

 

 

The Governor stressed that the meeting was part of the regular interactive session with the leaders of Anambra communities to get them briefed and fully informed, as well as mobilize them to participate to ensure a credible election and assured that his administration will continue to make efforts to improve on the security situation in the state.

 

The Deputy Governor of the state, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim accompanied the Governor to the meeting which also had the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, among others in attendance.
