The Traditional Ruler of Awka Community Obi Gibson Nwosu has urged Ndi Anambra to continue to engage only in those Programmes that will bring peace and unity to enhanced development of the State.

 

Speaking in an interview with Newsmen on the thirty third anniversary of the creation of Anambra State, Obi Nwosu maintained that with peaceful coexistence amongst the citizenry, Anambra State will continue to move from strength to strength in terms of infrastructure and other development in key sectors of the economy.

 

Obi Nwosu who is a founding member of the Nigerian Airfoce and one time Deputy chairman of Anambra State council of traditional Rulers, extolled the resilience and commitment of the founding fathers of Anambra State who worked for its creation on 27th August 1991, and charged the people of Anambra State to see its development as a collective task.

 

He commended the pioneer military administrator of Anambra State Navy Captain Joseph Abulu for setting the tone for its development, and other administrators and civilian Governors of the State for all their contributions towards the development of the State describing Anambra as a State that is richly blessed.

 

Obi Nwosu while paying special tribute to the incumbent Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo for all his people-oriented Programmes and policies aimed at transforming the State, described him as the only Governor that remembered Awka the State capital in terms of development and political appointments since the creation of Anambra State, thirty-three years ago.

 

He listed the construction of inter City roads, building of a New Government House and lodge, Solution Fun City, plans to build a five-star hotel in Awka by Governor Chukwuma Soludo as clear indication that the Governor is committed to making Awka livable, green and prosperous capital city and called on Ndi Anambra to see the thirty-three years anniversary as one that calls for sober reflection.

 

Obi Nwosu, while wishing the government and people of Anambra State a remarkable thirty-three years anniversary of the creation of Anambra State, urged the people to always be alive to their Civic responsibilities to enable the government to continue to serve them better.
