The Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has reiterated his administration’s resolve to ending child abuse in the State.
This he made known after the nurse who allegedly used heated laundry iron on her nephew was apprehended by the police.
Professor Soludo who spoke through the State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs Ify Obinabo decried the high rate of child abuse in the state, despite the efforts to bring it to the barest minimum and assured that anyone caught involved in such act will not go unpunished.
The Governor went further to thank Ndi Anambra for always bringing such dastardly act to the attention of the State government and stated that his government will not relent until child abuse is ended in Anambra.
As at the time of this report, the thirteen-year-old survivor has been taken to the hospital for medical attention.
