Anambra State government has warned developers, traders and residents against stacking of building materials along the roads and drainages.
The Managing Director, Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade, Mr. Celestine Anere issued the warning during the command’s regular drive around the State, especially in Nnewi.
According to Mr. Anere, the high rate of stacking of building materials on the roads is worrisome as it poses great danger to road users and blockage of water channels as he said that the agency will commence confiscating such materials and issuing notices to developers.
He noted that the operation is to ensure that traders doing business along the road as well as developers across the drainages were removed and their goods and materials confiscated.
Mr. Anere said that the agency is determined to improve the living standards of Ndi Anambra through adequate maintenance of environmental hygiene and Laws in the State.
During the drive, some construction sites were served notices for blocking waterways and for obstructing free flow of water.
