Anambra State House of Assembly’s Committee on Information has paid a familiarization visit to the State Ministry of Information to gain insights into the ministry’s operations, identify challenges, and explore avenues for legislative support.
The Committee, led by its Chairman, Honourable Fred Ezenwa, who represents Onitsha South One constituency, was received by the Commissioner for Information, Sir Paul Nwosu, at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat in Awka.
House of Assembly Correspondent Emmanuel Chigbata reports that during the visit, Honourable Ezenwa said that the purpose of the familiarization visit was to foster a better understanding of the ministry’s functions, challenges, and potential areas for improvement.
He stressed that the visit was not intended to criticize or find fault, but rather to collaborate on initiatives that would enhance the ministry’s effectiveness in alignment with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision of a prosperous and progressive Anambra State.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Information, Sir Paul, provided a detailed overview of the ministry’s operations, highlighting both its achievements and the challenges it faces.
He outlined the ministry’s efforts in promoting the state government’s image, disseminating accurate information, and supporting the governor’s developmental agenda.
Sir Paul also expressed gratitude to the Committee for their visit, noting that their support would be instrumental in helping the ministry navigate its challenges and fulfill its mandate effectively.
