As September twenty-eighth Anambra State Local Government election is approaching, the chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in Awka North Local Government, Comrade Thankgod Anago has promised to consolidate on his achievements so far, initiates more people oriented policies and programmes, as well as entrench government of inclusiveness.
Speaking to newsmen in his country home Mgbakwu, Comrade Anago who said that if elected, his administration will give priority to youth development and empowerment through skills acquisition trainings in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration’s policy of “one youth two skills” initiative, maintained that Ndi Awka North are in for a better day ahead.
The Awka North Transition Committee Chairman disclosed that he will collaborate with the State Ministry of Agriculture to ensure that the people of the Local Government who are predominantly farmers always get farm implements, fertilizers, provide Agro soft loans and grants where necessary, for enhanced productivity and food sufficiency and security in Awka North and the State at large.
In the areas of security, the mayor maintained that he will continue to assist the security agencies in the council area, especially the State Vigilante Services whom he had before now given operational vehicles and motorcycles as well as modern gadgets, assuring that his government will also mobilize stakeholders of Awka North in ensuring that the area is highly secured for a liveable and prosperous homeland.
Comrade Anago pointed out that he will prioritize both education and health needs of his people as the two sectors play significant roles in the development of every society, by supporting most especially the primary healthcare centres in the area, as well as taking the welfare of pupils and teachers seriously, through the provision of incentives to teachers and a conducive learning environment for pupils.
According to the Transition Committee Chairman, his government will collaborate with the traditional and religious institutions to bring an enduring peace, unity and harmonious co-existence in all the communities in the council, as according to him, there can never be any meaningful development anywhere without peace, justice and unity.
Comrade Anago assured that the provision of social amenities will take centre-stage in his administration, and that civil servants and pensioners in Awka North will continue to smile as their welfare would be prioritized.
He extolled the leadership style of Governor Soludo and commended him for his unprecedented development of the state, which Awka North has benefited immensely and urged the Governor to sustain the momentum.
