The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in Orumba South Local Government Area has conducted primary elections for Chairman and Councilors in the area.
The local government APGA primary election which was held at the Orumba South Council Secretariat, Umunze was monitored by an official of the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission, Sir Alex Udeorji.
According to the APGA Local Government Chairmanship primarily election Returning Officer, Mr. Chris Amah, Mr. Shedrack Azubuike emerged winner having scored a total number of forty nine votes to defeat his opponent, Mrs Helen Dim who scored three votes.
Mr. Amah while congratulating the Chairmanship Candidate, Mr. Azubuike, expressed satisfaction with the peaceful outcome of the election and noted that APGA has remained a mass movement in Orumba South Local Government Area.
Also speaking, the Orumba South Local Government Area APGA Chairman, Mr. Chike Nwafor commended the APGA delegates in the area for coming out en masse for the primary election, describing the election of Mr Azubuike as the APGA Chairmanship Candidate as a collective wish of the people.
In a vote of thanks, Mr. Azubuike, who is the current Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba South Local Government Area, expressed gratitude to the delegates for the confidence reposed in him by electing him as the APGA Chairmanship Candidate in the forthcoming local government election.
He promised that he will continue to domesticate the good work of Governor Chukwuma Soludo in Orumba South and appealed to the people of Orumba South to vote for him during the local government election, assuring that he will run an inclusive and purposeful administration.
