The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor, says God relates with His children based on who they are, not what they do.

In a sermon at All Saints Parish, Amaokpala, in Orumba North Local Government Area, during a service of confirmation and admission into the Girls’ Guild and Mothers’ Union for all the parishes under Oko Archdeaconry, Bishop Ezeofor emphasized that man’s relationship with God should be based on act of being, not from doing.

He cautioned against idolatry, urging the people to take God, the creator of the universe, as their only God and personal saviour.

Right Reverend Ezeofor regretted the high rate of idolatry, especially among youths, who are future leaders, and charged Christian parents and ministers of God rise to the occasion.

He attributed societal problems to a lack of knowledge of God and advised leaders to always lead with the fear of God, in addition to using their positions to impact others.

As National Chairman of the Evangelical Fellowship in the Anglican Communion (EFAC Nigeria), Bishop Ezeofor decried Nigeria’s high poverty rate and hike in petroleum products due to poor economic policies.

He urged the federal government to implement measures to address the situation and revamp ailing refineries in Kaduna, Port Harcourt and Warri to ensure constant availability of petroleum products at affordable costs.

Bishop Ezeofor charged those who received the sacrament of confirmation and those admitted into the Girls’ Guild and Mothers’ Union to be role models, in order to win souls for Christ.

In a remark the Archdeacon of Oko Archdeaconry, Venerable Steve Nnadi appreciated Bishop Ezeofor’s programmers and urged Christians to work out their salvation with their individual destinies.

One hundred and thirty-five candidates received the sacrament of confirmation, thirty-three girls admitted into the Girls Guild and forty-seven Women into the Mothers Union during the service which was attended by the president of Aguata Diocesan Women’s Ministry Mrs Chinyere Ezeofor, some Diocesan officials, uniformed organizations among others.

Anthem by the choir, and special prayers for those in leadership positions, the church, Anambra State and Nigerian Nation also featured during the service.
