The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has described the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor as a champion of ecumenism in the universal church.
Felicitating Bishop Ezeokafor on his seventy-second birthday on behalf of the State Legislature, Right Hon. Udeze noted that the Catholic Prelate has distinguished himself among his contemporaries through his deep evangelical exploits as well as effective church administration.
The Speaker who expressed satisfaction with the manner Bishop Ezeokafor has continued to identify with other church denominations, described the gesture as a display of true understanding of practical Christianity.
He enjoined other priests to emulate Bishop Ezeokafor’s sterling attributes by leading their congregations to true repentance, adding that Bishop Ezeokafor has proved to be serving under the special anointing and grace of God.
While wishing Bishop Ezeokafor more glorious years of service in God’s Vineyard, Right Hon. Udeze prayed to God to strengthen him in all goodness and give him longevity and good health that will enable him to continue his service to God and humanity.
