Five persons have been collated Archdeacons and eleven others made statutory canons of the cathedral by the Bishop on the Niger Right Reverend Owen Nwokolo.

 

Performing the function at All Saints Cathedral Onitsha Bishop Nwokolo urged the new archdeacons and canons of the cathedral to always preach the word of God undiluted reminding them of the need to use their new positions in impacting positively on the people.

Earlier in a sermon, the Rector, Anglican Church of the Holy Spirit, Bronx, New York, Venerable Dave Nwanekpe told the new Canons and Archdeacons that they are challenged with a lot of responsibilities in this twenty-first century hence the need for them to work as a team in order to restore the present generation which is perverse.

Felicitating with the new Canons and Archdeacons, Venerable Frank Obi, Dr. Joel Akunazobi from Trinity College Umuahia, and a stakeholder in Anambra State, Dr Chike Obidigbo tasked them on humility, love and obedience in order to touch lives.

 

The new Archdeacons includes Venerable Ebele Okonkwo, Sunday Achebe, Chukwudi Amasiatu, Venerable Benson Okafor and Chukwudi Okafor while some of the new Canons include Reverend Canon Emmanuel Eze, Chidi Okonkwo, Onyebuchi Emefo among others.

Venerable Ebele Okonkwo and Reverend Canon Chidi Okonkwo who spoke to the press pledged renewed commitment to the Diocese.

Installation of the new Canons and Archdeacons and unveiling of the Diocesan Polytechnic, Gozie Anyachebelu Polytechnic featured during the collation service.
