The Anglican Bishop of Ogbaru Diocese Right Reverend Prosper Amah says God has a purpose for creating Mankind.
In a sermon at the Basilica of Saint James the Great Cathedral Atani during a service of confirmation and admission into Girls Guild and Mothers Union, for the Cathedral deanery Bishop Amah charged Christians to rediscover God’s purpose for their creation, reminding them of the need to always understand God’s plan for them.
He regretted that many Christians have abandoned the victory which is in Jesus Christ in pursuance of the earthly things which according to him opposes God’s will.
Right Reverend Amah who blamed the problem of the Nigerian Nation on bad leadership saying that the high cost of living in the country has led many into immorality and charged the government to introduce more measures that will improve the living standards of the people.
Right Reverend Amah urged the faithful to stand firm in their service to God seek His presence and protection to achieve the needed victory.
The Ogbaru Diocesan Bishop who maintained that Victory was evident in Joseph’s life despite being hated and maltreated by his brothers, advised Christians to always wait for God’s plan for them warning them against being in a hurry and taking revenge.
Right Reverend Amah charged those that received the sacrament of confirmation and those admitted into Girls Guild and Mothers Union to have renewed faith in God in order to defeat all evil machinations on their various pathways.
In a remark the cathedral administrator Venerable Frank Akachukwu who described the Bishop’s visit as a great morale booster to the parishioners tasked the faithful on using their individual destinies in working out their salvation.
The service which was jointly facilitated by Reverends Kenneth Obiejemba and Chinonso Olisaemeka featured series of prayers for the Nigerian Nation in distress, those in leadership positions the church, Anambra State and various families.
The president of Ogbaru Diocesan Women’s Ministry Dr Uche Amah, Diocesan officials, uniformed organizations among others attended the service which also featured a special anthem by the Cathedral choir.
