Anambra State has continued to shine at the ongoing eight edition of the National Youth Games holding in Asaba, Delta State as the team yesterday increased her gold medal tally to five in the games.
Chioma Edeh was the star of the day winning a gold medal against all odds in the eight hundred metres event, seeing off the competition from the host, Delta State for the short distance race.
Team Anambra came close to winning Gold but were usurped by Kwara State in the Team event of the Female Scrabble through Onyinye Nnemkwo, Victoria Chimamanda Chukwuemeka and Catherine Ubammayie.
In Beach Volleyball, the Female duo of Gift Iwobi and Chioma Omah defeated their Bayelsa Counterparts to book a place in the Grand Finale.
In Track and Field, Gold medalists at the games, Chigozie Rosemary Nwankwo and Adaeze Eze secured their places in the final of the Female two hundred metres race, Chigozie Nwankwo who had earlier won gold in the one hundred metres Female final finished second in Heat one of the Semi Finals while Long Jump Junior Champions at the ongoing event Adaeze Eze won the Heat two to cruise into the Female two hundred Metres Finals.
