Governor Chukwuma Soludo and other academia have recommended the book, “Beyond Sycophancy” as a manual for achieving successes in life.

 

Governor Soludo made the recommendation in Awka during the public presentation and launch of the book which was also the major highlight of activities to mark the sixth birthday of Sir Chido Obi the immediate past Managing Director of the Anambra Broadcasting Service ABS.

The event drew the high and mighty from government circle, the media, the academic community and the corporate world.

 

Beyond Sycophancy chronicles Sir Chido’s rise as a first-class Master of Ceremony and Compere, and other critical life lessons.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Soludo congratulated Sir Chido on antecedents at sixth which he said is filled with remarkable memories and achievements, thanking God on his behalf for giving him good health and sound mind.

 

The Governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi described Sir Chido as a multi-talented individual who has contributed immensely to the development of the state and enjoined everyone to avail themselves of a copy of the book as it contains important guidelines for achieving greatness in life.

In his goodwill message, the Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze who led members of the Assembly to the event congratulated the former Managing Director of the Anambra Broadcasting Service for attaining the age of sixty and for the remarkable achievement he has made by documenting his life.

He described Sir Chido as an easily lovable individual whose dedication, passion and determination are seen in everything he does and prayed God to continue to bless and enrich him all the days of his life.

 

The Acting Vice Chancellor, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Professor Kate Omenugha who was also the Co-Chairperson of the event, said Sir Chido is one of Anambra’s finest exports making his experiences and ideas in the area of mastering events a gem to be preserved and passed down to future generations as she prayed God to bless him with more active years in the service of the society.

The book viewer Professor Ken Nwogu, acknowledged the piece of work as an empowerment to the younger generation on the critical profession of public speaking.

 

For the celebrant, the event was a moment of thanksgiving and appreciation as he took time during his welcome speech to share the stories of his rise in the world of event anchoring and later eventual service in government.

Sir Chido specifically appreciated Governor Soludo, former Governors Peter Obi and Willie Obiano, and the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly Senator Victor Umeh for the major roles they played at the different milestones he attained in life which are very significant to what he has become today.

The event was well attended by dignitaries from all walks of life including former Governor Obi represented by Mr Patrick Obi, Senator Umeh, members of Anambra State Executive council led by the Commissioner for Information, Sir Paul Nwosu; and a former Chief of Staff to Anambra State Government and Deputy Vice Chancellor of Paul University, Awka, Professor Stella Okunna.

 

Others were the National Chairman of the All-Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, Traditional Ruler of Omor in Ayamelum Local Government Area, Igwe Chris Chidume, Management and staff of Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) led by the Director of Legal Services, Barrister Juliet Amasiatu; and members of Rotary International.

Beyond Sycophancy is an autobiography authored by the immediate past Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service, Sir Chido Obidiegwu.
