The Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Delta State, was enlivened by the athletics event of the 2024 National Youth Games again as young athletes from the hosts Delta and Anambra States battled for supremacy in thetwo hundred meters and four by hundred meters finals.
Both states shared the honours in the boys and girls categories of both events.
Anambra reigned supreme in the girl’s two hundred meters as girl’s hundred meters champion Chigozie Nwankwo won her second title at the games by running an impressive personal best of twenty-four point seven one seconds.
Nwankwo inspired an Anambra 1-2 finish, with her teammate, Adaeze Ezeh, winning the silver medal intwenty-five point zero two second and Ngozi Okereke, from Delta state, settling for bronze in twenty-five point two five seconds.
