The former Deputy Chairman, Orumba South Local Government Area, Prince Chukwudi Ugochukwu says the conduct of local government election will create many job opportunities for the youths and reduce crime to the barest minimum.
Prince Ugochukwu who stated this in Awka while commending Governor Chukwuma Soludo for constituting the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission for the conduct of local government election in Anambra state noted that a functional local government system brings government closer to the people as they execute projects that meet the needs of the people at the grassroots.
He observed that the Government of Governor Chukwuma Soludo had within two and half years in office executed projects that opened the hinterlands through construction of many dilapidated roads in the rural areas that enable farmers in the area to evacuate their farm produce to urban areas as well as enhance socioeconomic activities of the state.
