Today, at 11:00 am, the Anambra State Chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, led by its National Leader and Governor of the state, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, will hold its mega rally.

The decision by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to hold a rally in Anambra state ahead of the local government elections in the state is a strategic move that underscores the party’s determination to maintain its dominance in the state.

As the ruling party in Anambra, APGA has a lot at stake in the local government elections, and it is pulling all the stops to ensure that it emerges victorious. The rally is a significant plank of the party’s campaign strategy and will provide a veritable platform and opportunity for APGA to showcase its achievements and connect with the people.

In its binding covenant with the people, APGA clearly sets out its agenda for the reform of leadership, politics,
economy and civil society in the Country, firmly founded on its principles and beliefs including commitment to national unity, democratic order, true federalism, political pluralism, new role for government, livelihood of the people, as well as commitment to the black world and of course, it’s role as a party.

The local government elections in Anambra state are particularly significant because they come at a time when there are heightened expectations for good governance and accountability across all strata of governance. The people of Anambra are demanding more from their elected leaders, and the political parties that can articulate their vision for the state and demonstrate a commitment to delivering on their promises will be the winners.

The Ekwueme Square rally presents an opportunity for APGA to do just that. By presenting its manifesto and engaging with the people, the party is promoting transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness. APGA has always prided itself in being a party for the people, and the rally is a perfect opportunity to demonstrate that.

As the dominant party in the state, the APGA-led administration has made commitment to ensuring that the local government elections are free, fair, and credible. The party has equally demonstrated disregard for violence and other forms of electoral malpractices that could cast doubts on the credibility of the elections. Undoubtedly, the party is willing to accept the outcome of the elections, whatever it may be.

The decision by APGA to hold a rally ahead of the local government elections in Anambra state is a welcome development. It is a sign of the party’s determination to maintain its dominance in the state, and it provides an avenue for the party to connect with the people and present its vision for the state. However, it is important that the party conducts its campaign in a free and fair manner and accepts the outcome of the elections. The people of Anambra deserve nothing less.

Truly, a liveable and prosperous smart mega city is achievable; moreso under APGA.

APGA!!! Onye Aghana Nwanne ya (Be Your Brother’s Keeper).
