Governor Chukwuma Soludo has stressed the importance of grassroots election which according to him can further drive development across all sectors.
Governor Soludo stated this during the campaign rally of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA for this Saturdays local government election at the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka.
He added that the conduct of the local government election is a promise he made and promise kept, even though many did not believe during the campaigns and promised a free and fair election.
The State Chairman of APGA, Barrister Ifeatu Obiokoye emphasized that the party is ready for the election.
Some people who spoke during the rally including the National Chairman of APGA, Barrister Sylvester Ezeokenwa, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, Right Honourable Paschal Agbodike, Chief Chinedu Obidigwe, Dr Victor Oye, Chief Dozie Nwankwo, among others, stressed that APGA is a grassroot-oriented party, generally accepted by Ndi Anambra as their development vehicle.
The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Board of Trustees members of APGA accompanied the Governor to the event.
Local Government Chairmanship candidates and councilors from the twenty-one local government areas of the state, thronged the venue in colourful APGA insignias, seeking to win hearts and minds for the party.
