Governor Chukwuma Soludo has assured that the September, twenty-eight, 2024 local government election in the State will be free, fair and credible.

Governor Soludo gave the assurance during the mega rally of the All-Progressives Grand Alliance, held at the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka.

According to the Governor, the local government election is a fulfilment of the promise made by his administration as soon as the institutional mechanisms and the legal framework were put in place.

The Governor recalled that the first local government election in Anambra was in 1998 and 2014, stressing that the promise he made during his inaugural speech will be fulfilled on Saturday this week.

While canvassing for votes, he revealed that there are about nine political parties contesting the election, but only the All-Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA fielded candidates for all the twenty-one council Chairmen for the election as well councilors in the three hundred and twenty-six electoral wards, adding that APGA as a political party remains one united, indivisible, ever stronger political party under the National Chairmanship of Barrister Slyvester Ezeokenwa.
