A political solidarity group, Ochendo Vanguard for Soludo of Chief Innocent Chiekezie has played host to the Chairmanship candidate of the All-Progressives Grand Alliance in this Saturday’s local government election Mr Romanus Ibekwe.
The event which took place in Ichida, Anaocha Local Government area also had in attendance councillorship candidates of the party in the election.
Ochendo Vanguard for Soludo is a grassroots political pressure group dedicated to promoting the ideals of the Soludo Government in all the nooks and cranny of the state.
Some of the stakeholders of the party and top government functionaries who attended the event took turn to speak on the importance of domesticating the good governance championed by the State government at the local government level.
The Principal Secretary to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Barrister Joachin Anetoh described Chief Chiekezie as a strong stakeholder of APGA as he has continued to promote Governor Soludo’s unparalleled achievements in government.
Barrister Anaetoh while canvassing for votes for the All-Progressives Grand Alliance and Mr Ibekwe this Saturday said the Soludo administration has given the people of Anaocha reasons to trust him.
For the Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Obidike, Governor Soludo’s impact on good governance has touched every ward in Anaocha and assured that with rehabilitation of Primary Health Centers in all the three hundred and twenty-six electoral wards in the state including those in Ichida, Ndi Anambra have been assured easy, quick and affordable access to healthcare.
A former member of the National Assembly, Chief Dozie Nwankwo and Political Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Dr Alex Obiogbolu commended the convener, Chief Chiekezie for supporting Governor Chukwuma Soludo through Ochendo Vanguard for Soludo, describing the candidates of APGA in Anaocha as carefully chosen to bring good governance nearer to the people.
The convener, Chief Chiekezie said he thought it necessary, as a stakeholder in the community and in APGA, to present the candidates of the party to the people of Ichida wards one and two and to canvass for votes for APGA this Saturday as it is the only vehicle for grassroots transformation.
Thanking the people for the massive support given to him so far, Mr Ibekwe enumerated the skills acquisition and empowerment programmes he introduced which has five hundred youths as beneficiaries and other plans and programmes he initiated as reasons the people of Anaocha Local Government Area will vote for APGA.
Correspondent, Chinelo Onwuzuluike reports that the event was also attended by Chairman, Anambra State Sports Development Commission, Mr Patrick Onyedum; the Managing Director, Anambra State Urban Water Asset Holdings Corporation, Engineer Ikeobi Ejiofor among others.
