Anambra state government has expressed satisfaction with pace of work done so far on the Trauma center, a project awarded by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
The Commissioner for Housing, Honourable Paully Onyeka made the Observation during the official handover and inspection of the project sited inside Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka.
After going round, the project which is at decking level, Honourable Onyeka said he is happy that work has reached that stage even before the official handover, adding that the contractor is working in line with the vision of Governor Soludo in health sector where he said that three General hospitals have been revamped and five new ones built by the present administration.
Honourable Onyeka noted that the trauma center is very important to Governor Soludo and Ndi Anambra and would serve as a tourist center when completed since it will have all the facilities that have not been seen in any part of Nigeria, and would promote medical tourist Anambra.
On his part, the Chief Medical Director, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital, Dr Josephat Akabuike, represented by the Acting Chairman Medical Advisory Committee, CMAC, Mr. Nnaemeka Umedum, expressed gratitude to Governor Soludo for choosing to give Ndi Anambra the best in health care delivery, as he said that the trauma center which he said is the grade two of the facility that is no mean feat to achieve, would help save emergency cases that were hitherto referred outside the state, even as he appreciated Commissioner Onyeka and Engineers in the ministry of Housing for the way they are monitoring and helping out to ensure that things work out well.
The Managing Director of TRI SECOND construction company, the firm handling the project, Engineer Chukwuma Uka said he moved to site immediately the contract was awarded without waiting for the official handover, because of the importance Governor Soludo placed on the project and promised to complete the job before December ending.
