The Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Mr. Don Onyenji, has said that being a tourist with global exposure, Governor Chukwuma Soludo has continued to develop the tourism sector of the state by constructing multi-billion-naira Solution Fun City that can engage five thousand people at a time, and improving other leisure centers in the state through the provision of necessary infrastructure that drive tourism, such as roads.

Correspondent Joseph Egbeocha reports that while speaking at a press briefing to mark the 2024 World Tourism Day in Awka, Commissioner Onyenji encourage communities to develop leisure parks in their areas in order to create fun in the environment and meaningfully engage people, especially the youths.


He identified insecurity and funding as challenges facing the tourism sector, adding however that Anambra has continued to witness influx of tourists in the state through the efforts of the Soludo administration.

The Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr. Jerome Ilokwu, Head of Tourism department of the ministry, Mrs. Chioma Afuba, and other tourism volunteers attended the event with the theme: Tourism, justice and peace, when they come together effectively, the world is better.
