Residents of Anambra East Council Area have adjudged the 2024 Anambra State Local Government chairmanship and councillorship elections as the most peaceful and commended Governor Soludo for deepening democracy in the state.
The Chairman of Otuocha Ward Two, Mr. Timothy Dumaka made the remark while speaking to journalists after the election.
Correspondent Emmanuel Chigbata reports that Mr. Dumaka noted that though there was delay in distribution of sensitive and non-sensitive materials by ANSIEC, the election remained peaceful as eligible voters voted for their choice.
Another resident, Mr. Joseph Aduaka, acknowledged a little delay in the arrival of materials but affirmed that the election is the best so far in the state.
Meanwhile, the Chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for Anambra East Local Government Area, Mr. Hillary Obike, has expressed displeasure over the overall conduct of the process since according to him, election materials arrived late at some polling units.
