The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar has embarked on an operational tour of the Nigerian Air Force, units in Enugu and Port Harcourt as part of his moves towards transforming the force for greater agility and resilience.
This strategic visit is aimed at evaluating the operational readiness and infrastructural development of these units, with a focus on enhancing their efficiency and effectiveness in tackling national security challenges.
At the 405 Helicopter Combat Training Group (HCTG) and the International Helicopter Flying School (IHFS) in Enugu, the Chief of Air Staff conducted an in-depth inspection of facilities, engaged with personnel, and explored opportunities to boost operational performance.
He stressed the importance of maintaining high preparedness to counter both current and emerging security threats.
Air Marshal Abubakar reaffirmed his dedication to implementing projects and procuring critical equipment to raise the standards of these units.
According to the CAS, the aim is to ensure a dynamic and efficient service delivery across all platforms, and underscored his commitment to NAF’s growth.
In Port Harcourt, the CAS extended his visit to the 115 Special Operations Group (SOG), where he reinforced the mission of assessing operational readiness and identifying infrastructural improvements.
He assured the personnel that efforts to upgrade facilities and equipment would remain a top priority.
These operational visits highlight Air Marshal Abubakar’s drive to strengthening the NAF’s airpower capabilities, through comprehensive support in operations, logistics, and welfare as well as through enhanced infrastructure.
