The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Barrister Uju Kennedy -Ohanenye has appealed to Ndi Anambra to exercise patience with President Bola Tinubu as he unfolds his lofty plans for Nigerians.

The Minister made the appeal in Awka during the distribution of rice, fertilisers and gas cylinders to Anambra Women.

Addressing the women drawn from all parts of Anambra state, Barrister Kennedy -Ohanenye said that President Tinubu who donated the five thousand 10kg bags of rice is gradually alleviating hunger in the country and will in a couple of months, bring to an end the hardship faced by Nigerians, as refineries will soon start working, thereby bringing down the price of fuel.

She said that he decided to stop fuel subsidy which she said was previously being diverted into private pockets, adding that he is out to ensure that things are done correctly especially when it the involves welfare of the citizenry.

The Minister said that while Nigerians wait for long term solution to the hardship in the country, which he has started with agriculture revolution, student loan, business loan and distribution of food items, the President decided to cushion the effect of the situation by sharing rice, money among others to the citizenry.

Earlier, Anambra state Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Mrs Ify Obinabo while welcoming the minister to her state, since she is a native of Awka, appreciated her for the gesture as she said that the move was in line with what Governor Chukwuma Soludo is doing to reduce hardship for Ndi Anambra.

The event was also attended by the people living with disability, widows and women groups who were all beneficiaries of the gesture.
