As Anambra Joined the rest of the world to commemorate the 2024 World Mental Health Day the Commissioner for Heath, Dr. Afam Obidike says the Ministry has established mental health unit for the co-ordination of mental health challenges across the State.
The Commissioner who equally said that Anambra State government will entrench a society where mental health is valued, promoted and protected made this known during a press briefing to commemorate the event in Awka.
He noted that the theme for this year’s event which is “Mental Health at Work” emphasizes the importance of taking collective action to ensure that workplaces foster mental health, protect against harm among others.
Earlier, the Anambra State Mental Health Coordinator, Dr. Okeke Terry emphasized that a big relationship exists between mental health and good working environment, stressing that once a worker is mentally sound at a workplace, he is bound to be more productive.
