The Anambra State Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Engineer Julius Chukwuemeka, his Information Counterpart, Dr. Law Mefor, the Managing Director of Anambra State Urban Water Assets Holding Cooperation, Engineer Ikeobi Ejiofor have inspected some water facilities under the Awka Water Scheme project.

Addressing the media after the inspection, the State Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Engineer Chukwuemeka revealed that the essence of the inspection was to see to the progress of the various water facilities within the city, as potable water supply is one of the top priorities of the current administration in the state to ensure that every resident of Anambra have access to potable water.

Engineer Chukwuemeka explained that in executing the mandate given to them by the Governor, they put into consideration the sustainability of the project, adding that in order to have a liveable and sustainable urban city dream of the Governor, there must be running water in people’s homes, saying that water is one of the greatest essential commodities for human existence.

 

For the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Mefor, Governor Soludo is working the talk, saying that he is highly delighted that the current administration has done fantastically well in the provision of water supply, regretting that most of the Governor’s achievements are being under reported but promised to change the narrative.

According to the Managing Director of the Anambra State Urban Water Assets Holding Cooperation, Engineer Ejiofor, the current administration in the state is revolutionizing the ministry of Power and Water Resources, as well as all the parastatals under the ministry, adding that Governor Soludo had recently settled the dispute between the staff of the old water cooperation and the State government to ensure that Ndi Anambra have access to seamless water supply.

Some of the areas visited were Arroma water tank, Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, water facility, Ifite-Awka among others.
