The Anambra State government has launched the state Tourism Volunteers Network.
The event held at the Anambra state Film Village in Awka, attracted the Minister of Arts, Culture, Creative Economy and Tourism, Mrs Hanatu Musawa among other government functionaries.
Unveiling the state Tourism Volunteers Network during the event tagged “Anambra Picnic and Funfare”, the State Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Comrade Don Onyenji said that his ministry decided to partner the Tourism Volunteers Network because it is in line with what Governor Chukwuma Soludo is doing in the tourism sector.
In her speech, the Minister, Mrs Musawa represented by the Executive Director, Tourism Volunteers Network, Mr Phil Roberts, said that he was excited to know that the Volunteers Network is in Anambra, as the federal government is interested in promoting tourism in Nigeria.
On his part, a former member that represented Anambra East and West Federal Constituency at the Green Chambers, Honourable Chinedu Obidigwe noted that Governor Soludo is not relenting in his quest to promote tourism in the State, while the Mayor of Awka South Local Government Area, Prince Chinedu Okafor said that the event is a welcome development in promoting the culture and tradition of Ndi Anambra.
