Anambra State Ministry of Agriculture has enjoined stakeholders to join efforts towards achieving food security.

Its Commissioner Dr. Foster Ihejiofor made the call during a road walk to commemorate the United Nations World Food Day with the theme “Food for better Life and better future” which seeks to urgently promote sustainable food systems and combat global hunger.


Dr. Ihejiofor, who maintained that Anambra State government understands that food security is not just about availability but also about nutrition, safety, access, utilization, and stability said Governor Chukwuma Soludo, has rolled out several initiatives focused on enhancing local food production, promoting agricultural education, and improving access to nutritious food for all.

Sensitizing the public during the road show at various areas in Awka, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Ifeyinwa Uzoka said that the sensitization walk is geared towards ensuring that every citizen has access to healthy and nutritious food.
