The Accountant General of Anambra State, Dr. Chukwudi Okoli, has described the Local Government Administration Bill 2024, signed into law by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, as a transformative measure to strengthen the local government system in the State.

In an interview with Abuchi Nwozor, Dr. Okoli emphasized that the law is people-oriented, highlighting that Governor Soludo’s efforts to reposition grassroots governance and bring more democratic dividends to the people, including conducting local government elections after a ten-year hiatus is commendable.

He urged Ndi Anambra to continue supporting the Soludo administration, citing its quality programs and policies, and reminded the citizens of their civic responsibilities, including paying approved taxes and levies to enable the government to serve them better and protect public facilities from vandalism.
