CAPPS Academic Championship is an independent legal entity and a new educational organization, recognized by the government of Nigeria for the promotion of academic diligence with a strategy for quality and functional education.
The organization aims to entrench a system of functional education in Nigeria with a new developmental roadmap in schools irrespective of religious or political learnings geared towards talent discovery in Nigerian youths.
CAPPS Academic Championship is an Educational Scholarship Competition Scheme that will help tackle poor reading culture, examination malpractices and school dropout syndrome . It is an annual competition modeled to inspire a new generation of children through improvement in performance in external examinations including Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination UTME organized by Joint Admission and Matriculation Board JAMB, through healthy peer competition.
The organization is also working towards encouraging youths development and career choice rooted in life skills for pupils and students in order to equip youths to be self reliant, eradicate social vices; such as, anti-intellectual dispositions, cultism, curriculum inconsistency, and tribal bigotry in admission procedures and processes , moral decadence, idleness and unemployment, among others.
The poor performances of students in the West African School Certificate Examination (WASCE) in some subjects like English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and other professional courses like Law and Medicine are not unconnected to the consequences of poor reading culture, poor implementation of academic curriculum and high incidence of examination malpractices.
CAPPS Academic Championship will sustain efforts in advocating and ensuring the actualization of new spirit of academic research, rebirth and excellence which will redress the poor reading culture of students and effective implementation of the Nigeria-National Policy on Education.
The organization aims to promote youth entrepreneurial skills and sports development as well as showcase the best pupils, students and youths through annual academic and sports activities.
It will also support platforms and programmes that encourage children to develop their talents, career choices and welfare of the less privileged and disadvantaged pupils and students.
Capps Academic Championship is open to all Senior Primary School Pupils , Junior Secondary School and Senor Secondary School Students of Public, Mission and Private Schools. Pupils and Students can also participate on individual platforms where their schools are not participating. The first fifty schools to participate in every state will get highly subsidized study materials. The textbooks for the competition are duly approved by States and National Education Curricular towards uniform educational system. The examination question papers are prepared in collaboration with the States and National Ministries of Education.
Forms for the competition can be obtained online and through State Educational Zones.
Over thirty million naira Cash And Other Consolation Prizes will be won by participants in every state In Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.
