Ifite-ogwari community in Ayamelum Local Government Area has celebrated their 2024 igba ji festival amid funfair.

Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modiilm reports that the ceremony which held at Ogidiga Royal palace, commenced with the cutting of roasted yam by the traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Alphonsus Ofuebe who described the event as a celebration of their bumper harvest season and prayed for more blessings upon the community.


In their separate speeches, the traditional prime minister of Ifite-ogwari, Chief Simeon Nweke and the Secretary, Ogidiga Royal palace, Chief Oliver Nweke, thanked God that Ifite-ogwari went through a successful farming season without recording any bad incident.

At the ceremony, Igwe Ofuebe conferred meritorious titles on five indigenes of Ifite-ogwari who have contributed to the development of the community.
