In a decisive move to address the growing security concerns in the state, the Anambra State Executive Council, ANSEC, held its thirty third meeting on yesterday and resolved to confront the issues head-on.

The council according to a press releatime plop signed by the Commissioner for Information, Dr Law Mefor, identified kidnapping, cult killings, armed robbery, and other crimes as priority areas to be rooted out in the coming weeks.

The council also approved several key infrastructure projects, including Dualization and Construction of Nwagu Agulu – Nnobi – Nnewi Road which is eighteen point six kilometers, awarded to Lebtech Constructions Limited at the tune of thirty-three point five five seven billion naira with a twelve month project timeline.

The release noted that the dualization and Construction of Nnewi-Ozubulu-Okija Road, a sixteen point five one kilometers road awarded to Ferotex Construction Company at the tune of thirty point nine one eight billion naira, is with an eighteen month project timeline.

It said that the Construction of the iconic tower at Ekwulobia, Aguata Local government area is awarded to IDC Construction Limited at nine hundred and eighty million naira, with a four month project timeline.

Also, the supply and Installation of Medical Equipment for the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, awarded to De Jotlims Medical Limited at two hundred and thirty six point three seven one million naira, is with two month project timeline.

The release maintained that these projects are expected to significantly boost infrastructure development and improve the quality of life for residents in Anambra State.
