The Mayor of Awka North Local Government Area, Dr ThankGod Anago has inaugurated the Awka North Local Government Legislative Congress, with a charge on members to deliver on their various mandates.
The event held at Awka North council Headquarters Achalla, featured an election which saw Mr Michael Ekemezie emerged the Leader of the congress, Mr Uchenna Ekemezie, Deputy Leader, Mr Nonso Oraekie, Chief Whip, Mr Nelson Achabe, Deputy Chief Whip, and Mr Richard Jidendu, Majority Leader.
Inaugurating members of the congress who are fourteen in number, the Awka North Mayor, Dr Anago who expressed the hope that the councilors are in the congress for selfless service, encouraged them to be focused on their task.
The Awka North Local Government Area APGA Chairman, Mr James Onwuka, and the Secretary of the party, Chief Amaechi Obiesili reminded members of the congress of the need to make the party proud through quality representation.
In separate interviews, the Leader of the Congress, Mr. Ekemezie, Majority Leader, Mr Jidendu, Councilor representing Urum ward, Mr Uchenna Nnonyelum, his Ebenebe Ward Two counterpart, Mr Kenechukwu Agu, and that of Mgbakwu Ward, Mr Innocent Ikegbunam promised to help move Awka North Local Government Area forward.
