Tomorrow, all road will lead to Saint John the Divine Church Oko, in Orumba North Local Government Area for the climax of series of activities lined up to celebrate the thirty years of Marriage of the Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Samuel Chukwudi Ezeofor and his wife Mrs. Chinyere Huldah Ezeofor.

Already, the Saint John the Divine Church Oko premises, has been decorated for the ceremony which is expected to begin by ten O’clock in the morning.

The pearl celebration will be graced by College of Bishops, Captains of Industry, the religious, top government functionaries, Council of Knights and Ladies Auxiliary, as well as uniformed organizations.

The celebration is to mark their journey in the past thirty years in marital affairs and their contributions to the Divine Ministry of Jesus Christ as they emerged from their wilderness and settled in their promised land.

Bishop Ezeofor was born to the family of Ichie Noel and Mrs. Juliana Ezeofor of Ezioko Village, Oko in Orumba North Council area, while his wife, Chinyere was born to the family of Retired Catechist Julius and Mrs. Caroline Chukwuka of Umuagu Nnobi, Idemili South Council area.

While in their youthful ages, the then Brother Sam served God in his local church at Saint John the Divine Church, Oko where he was groomed in evangelical duties, while Sister Chinyere received her religious tutelage at Saint Simon’s Church, Nnobi.

They met at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, after gaining admission in 1986. They both attended the same fellowship, the Christian Union and the Anglican Students Fellowship in the University.

Through Divine Providence, they graduated the same year in 1990 and went to serve the nation as youth corps members in 1990/91 batch in Ibadan, Oyo state and Jos, Plateau State, respectively.

They agreed to marry the same year, even though they went back to school for their Masters Degree Programmes. While Brother Sam went to the University of Ibadan, Sister Chinyere settled for the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

Brother Sam later went to the Immanuel College of Theology, Ibadan, for his theological training from 1992 to 1994, while Sister Chinyere, resumed teaching in the famous Holy Innocent Juniorate Convent, Nkpor, Diocese on the Niger in 1993.

Brother Sam was ordained by Bishop Emmanuel Gbonigi of Akure Diocese in June, 1994. In November fifth of that year, he wedded his heartthrob, Sister Chinyere, at the Chapel of Transfiguration, Federal Polytechnic, Oko. The marriage is blessed with very promising children.

Their marriage and ministry which began in Akure Diocese from 1994 to 1998, Nnewi Diocese from 1998 to 2007, Ogbaru Diocese from 2007 to 2018 and Aguata Diocese from 2018 till date, necessitated this pearl celebration.

Members of the Planning Committee have made elaborate arrangements to ensure a seamless celebration of the great event. The pearl celebration is going to be a blessing for all and sundry, as Right Reverend Ezeofor and wife Chinyere, have extended their hands of fellowship to their relations, friends, well – wishers and distinguished invitees, to grace the occasion.
