Anambra State House of Assembly has received a budget proposal of ₦606,991,849,118 for the 2025 fiscal year from Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

The budget, titled “Changing Gears 2.0,” was presented during today’s plenary session at the Assembly Complex in Awka.

The budget estimate marks a 48% increase compared to the ₦410,132,225,272 allocated in 2024.

The 2025 budget allocates ₦139.5 billion for recurrent expenditures and ₦467.5 billion for capital projects.

The capital expenditure represents 77% of the total budget, while recurrent spending accounts for 23%, maintaining the same ratio as in the 2024 budget.

The estimated budget deficit is ₦148.3 billion, representing 24% of the total budget, a reduction from the 30% deficit recorded in 2024.

The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, described the budget presentation as a significant milestone in shaping the state’s development.

In his address, Governor Soludo emphasized that the budget goes beyond figures and allocations, reflecting the hopes, aspirations, and collective vision of Anambra’s people.

He expressed optimism that the plan would lay the foundation for a prosperous and sustainable future for generations to come.
