The Chief Judge of Anambra State, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu has discharged nine inmates who were awaiting trial at Aguata Correctional Centre.
Those freed were Emeri Okeke, Chukwujekwu Okpara, Ogechi Onyeanusi, Innocent Chukwuma, Ejike Orji, Chiemelie Nwosu, Saledu Mohammed, Ogochukwu Ezeagba and Chinecherem Orjiakor.
Justice Anyachebelu explained that he released them on the grounds that the complainants of the cases have abandoned them addng that continuing their prosecution has become incapable .
Justice Anyachebelu also granted bail to Nnamdi Anenegbu and Nnamdi Okoli who were remanded for alleged armed robbery and murder.
The Deputy Controller of Aguata Correctional Centre, Mr Michael Orjiakor, advised those freed to be of good behaviour.
