About six hundred kilometers of roads are to be constructed in all the Local Government Areas of the state through the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project.
This was revealed in Awka, during a stakeholder’s workshop and key players in the project, organized by its state co-ordinator, Professor Chukwuemeka Orakwue.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi said that relationship with donor agencies has been very beneficial and appreciated the European Investment Bank for including Anambra among the six states that will benefit in this phase.
The National Coordinator of the project, Engineer Mohammed Bodinga represented by its National Auditor, Mr Emmanuel Agu highlighted various steps taken to ensure that the project is domesticated in Anambra State.
The state coordinator of RAAMP, Professor Chukwuemeka Orakwue explained that the programme is aimed at intimating key players on the journey so far.
Anambra state Commissioner for Works, Engineer Ifeanyi Okoma represented by Engineer Chidi Obiudu, and an Environmental Safeguard Specialist, Engineer Valentine Ifedi noted that when actualized the projects will benefit farmers in the state.
